Swedish carmaker Volvo will present at the Detroit Motor Show, which begins next week, the Volvo XC60 concept with hybrid drive.

Volvo once again shocked by the performance and efficiency of its hybrid powertrain. On the rear axle electric motor assists him with 70 horses and 200 Nm of torque. The car has four-wheel drive and overall performance to 350 hp. Car comes with eight-speed automatic transmission.
Car operates in three modes, as mentioned Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid , the driver is using the three buttons on the center console himself able to choose the mode that he wants. In auto mode Pure can only run on electricity, so no carbon dioxide emissions. Batteries last 45 km. Their full charge from the mains voltage of 220 V is three and a half hours. However, the battery also charges during deceleration or braking.

The basic scheme is Hybrid mode, when both engines working together, while working for the lowest fuel consumption. It is then very impressive 2.3 liters of fuel per 100 km. Volvo XC60 Plug-in Hybrid goes on one tank in this mode up to 960 km.

In the third mode Power, both motors join forces to be able to convey the best crew of the dynamic driving experience. The hundred kmper hour can be achieved under 6.1 seconds.

Although this is still only a concept car but it is quite possible that it goes into production. When this happens is still questionable. If this hybrid gets green, the first market will be U.S.. Europe probably comes later.
